Ross and I moved in to our apartment a little over a month ago and had to get creative for some low-budget decorating. I didn't have much space in my suitcase to bring all of my awesome little trinkets that I collected from my travels in Asia; but what I did have room for were photos. The question was, how could I display them without buying frames?
The answer came from my memories of my friend Zack's old apartment back in Korea. He had taped a string of yarn to his wall and two points and tied pictures to the yarn...cheap and easy. I wanted to use something a little prettier than yarn, and something a little more stable than tape. Here's what I came up with (How-To Steps below):
Materials:
* Some Pretty Ribbon
* At least two self-adhesive, plastic wall hooks
* Whatever awesome pictures that you want to display but can't afford frames for
* Clothespins (I think the wooden ones look the best)
* Scissors
Step one: Measure height and spacing for where you want the ends of your ribbon to sit on the wall and mark the spot for your hooks
Step Two: Adhere hooks to the wall, according to directions on the package
Step Three: Cut ribbon to desired length
Step Four: Tie the ends of the ribbon in a bow and double knot it so that it won't slip. Make a loop in the center of the bow for the hook
Step Four: Place the ribbon bows on the hooks
Step Five: Pin your pictures to the ribbon with the clothespins
Step Six: Admire your pretty wall and show off your awesome travel pics!
