As an expat, surrounded by locals, one might find themselves cracking a joke and laughing so hard that you cry, until you look up and realize that no one is laughing with you...not to fear! Your joke truly was funny...to another American. Despite the lack of language barrier, there are definitely some serious cultural differences between myself and the general population. Click on the Culture tab to see posts about it.

The Everyday:
This tab includes funny little stories about the difficulties/niceties about living here...enjoy!
America Craving:
Things I miss about America, The West, the Rockies, and Home...
Tunes, Twangs, and Geets:
Music is a HUGE part of my life and it is very important to me. I've been a singer/songwriter since I was about 10 years old, played jazz and classical trumpet when I was younger (I'm really gonna have to pick that up again) and am very likely to corner you into a multi-hour conversation about all things rock and roll, all things folk, or all things Pink Floyd.
The varied posts in this tab say a little something about my music interests...tunes, lyrics...my originals...performing...psychoanalyzing the progression of my favorite bands music, etc. Oh yeah, I'll try to relate some of this stuff to Africa :)
You Know You're In...When...
Throughout my time living in South Korea, and now here in Africa, I often had experiences that I could never have had anywhere but there in that place and in that moment...little happenings, or things you see that make you laugh and appreciate cultural differences and allow you to poke fun at stereotypes.

Semi-Creative (DIY):
A blog is no good without a DIY page, right? Right. So, here are my small attempts at decorating my apartment on a budget, making delicious food for my fiance, and even some bigger projects (like when I made my own wedding dress...but can't post about that till after the wedding because Ross can't see the dress yet!!!)
P.S...I labeled this SEMI-Creative for a reason...I'm very creative! But most of these projects aren't, as I'm using all my creative energy towards my Masters Thesis...
